Nvidia has added support for both the cards with a new driver release that brings a significant number of features like ReShade Filters, Improved Customizable Image Sharpening, Nvidia Ultra-Low Latency Mode for G-Sync Displays, and Turing Encoder for Gaming and Broadcasting. Nvidia’s press release claims that “the pair [of new Super cards] delivers up to 2X the performance of the prior generation GTX 10-series GPUs and up to 50-percent more performance over the original GTX 16-series.” THE GTX 1660 SUPER A successor to the GTX 1660, the GTX 1660 SUPER is based on Nvidia’s TU116-300 graphics chip. The GTX 1660 SUPER features a 6GB of GDDR6 memory at 14 Gbps, which has increased the bandwidth from 192.1 GB/s to 331 GB/s (a 75% improvement over the GeForce GTX 1660’s 8 Gbps 192 GB/s GDDR5 VRAM).
Further, the GTX 1660 SUPER is designed for high-fidelity 1920×1080 gaming. It is up to 1.5x faster than a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, and is significantly faster than older, still-popular GPUs like the GeForce GTX 750 Ti. “The GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER is up to 20% faster than the original GTX 1660 and up to 1.5X faster than the previous-generation GTX 1060 6GB. Powered by the award-winning NVIDIA Turing architecture and ultra-fast GDDR6 memory, it’s a supercharger for today’s most popular games. Time to gear up and get SUPER.” The new GPU comes with 1408 CUDA cores along with a base and boost clock of 1530 MHz and 1785 MHz respectively. The GTX 1660 SUPER is launching at $229 in the U.S. and is available through its partners including Asus, Gigabyte, Colorful, MSI, Zotac, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Innovision 3D, Palit, and PNY.
