The new 10th-gen “Comet Lake” mobile processors are based on the Skylake microarchitecture and 14nm manufacturing process. The Comet Lake lineup includes four new U-Series processors (15-25W) and 4 new Y-Series processors (4.5-9W) and comes in Core i3, i5, and i7 variants with up to 6 cores.

Further, these new chips offer best-in-class platform connectivity via integrated Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+), with enhanced WPA3 security support for faster and more secure Internet connections and broader scaling of Thunderbolt 3 ports. The new 10th gen Intel Core processors based on Intel’s highly optimized 14nm process technology apparently enable 16% overall performance gains and over 41% better productivity and multitasking on apps like Microsoft’s Office 365 suite compared with the previous generation—all without compromising battery life. Lastly, the processors feature the Intel Adaptix Technology that supports modern standby for faster wake and also enabling multiple voice assistant services built into the PCs. Further, the Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology also enables OEM partners to tune 10th Gen Intel Core processor-based systems to achieve even more performance — ranging from 8% to 12% on a typical system. Intel said its 10th-gen core processors for laptops would be available from manufacturers in time for U.S. holiday shopping season with more than 90 additional designs.
